Chinese Army to Change Footwear to Increased Cases of Athlete’s Foot

fungal-toenail2The Chinese Army has been working to eliminate the current footwear for their troops because they have poor ventilation that causes Athlete’s foot among their army personnel. The army has been using these shoes since their time in Vietnam; however they have become less popular over the years because they leave the feet vulnerable to many problems. Officer Man Xiangdong has helped designed replacement shoes that are “anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, and odor resistant.” In addition to reducing the amount of athlete’s foot within the army, the shoes offer better ankle support.
